Description
This route is easy and suitable for young and old. It is a perfect walk for families, but also for anyone looking for a relaxing stroll through nature. Consequently, it is one of our favorite walks in the region.
An added benefit is that the final destination is also accessible from Bansko. This allows you to choose from various routes or combine the walk with another hike. In this description, we assume the route starting from Dobrinishte.
You start at the cozy central square of Dobrinishte. After the walk, you can settle down on a terrace here for a cup of coffee or a delicious lunch.
From the square, walk west, past Restaurant Capri. Follow this street all the way until you leave the village. At a small bridge, turn left. You can also walk straight ahead here, but in our opinion, the route to the left is the most beautiful and enjoyable.
Here, you walk sheltered along a small river. The tranquility, the fresh mountain air, and the views of the Pirin Mountains ensure that you immediately feel like you have landed right in the middle of nature. At the next intersection, turn right and follow the yellow route signs.
From here, you walk through a typical Bulgarian rural landscape, where cows, sheep, and horses are frequently seen grazing.
The wide path leads you past vegetable gardens, meadows, and open fields, while the impressive Pirin Mountains are constantly present in the background. The views here are particularly beautiful on clear days.
Continue following the path until you reach a fork. Turn left here. From that point, you walk straight towards the waterfall.
Take a moment here to enjoy the surroundings. The sound of the flowing water, the lush greenery, and the silence make this a special place you won't soon forget.
Photos of the route
If you wish to extend the walk to the Thracian settlement of Nameless Town and the viewpoint, turn right just before the picnic tables. If you are returning from the waterfall, take the first path to the left.
The path then winds through a quiet forest. After a while, you reach a crossroads near a small wooden hut. The route signs point left here, where a short but quite steep path leads upwards. Fortunately, this climb does not take long.
A wonderful reward awaits at the top: a spectacular viewpoint with a panoramic view over the entire Dobrinishte valley and the surrounding mountains!
If you walk a little further uphill, you will reach the Thracian settlement of Nameless Town. The original name of this ancient city is unknown, which gives the place an extra special character.
Explore the ruins, enjoy the tranquility, and be sure to take a look inside the small church located here. Surrounded by nature and history, this unique location forms a beautiful endpoint to a lovely hike.
